Default Changing stock sound system

I have a 1997 SC2 with the stock DD, CD player/EQ. I want to change it out for a front USB/ipod connect. I've heard Pionerr and Kenwwod are a good bang for your buck followed by JVC. Any preferences out there?

Also, are the door and deck speakers 63/4"? Will I need the wiring clips?

While I'm at it - what's the best dash kit? Thanks.
