my idle's too rough

Default my idle's too rough

on my 1997 saturn sc2 1.9l engine is idleing too rough and somewhat shaking the car which item should i be checking first? where is a good starting point?

Personally, I'd start with the motor mounts on the passenger side of the car.

indeed torque axis mounts (top first, then bottom)

Just for the record .... the torque axis mount is the top engine mount and it will shake your teeth out if left long enough


passenger side of the engine on top.

ya i checked the passenger side engine mount and its cracked but my idle is around 850 to 900 rpms is that good or bad cause my car sat for a year and a half and i think i need to clean out the IAC (idle air control) cause i think thats dirty and the o ring is bad but ill do that and keep ya posted thanks fellas

Idle is not bad - especially if an auto vehicle measured in neutral or park ....

my car is going to be set up im going to clean the iac wensday cause i dont have work but its slowly getting better maybe the iac is cleaning itself idk
