glad my vacation starts tomorrow. go to get my sister from work tonight,
and I hear this ticking sound I suppose. I don't even know how to search for this (yes, I know the search engine but Ion ticking noise probably wont get me far)

You got oil in the car, Billy? That sure sounds a lot like valve noise to me.

yes I do. Literally just changed the oil. I know I have an oil leak somewhere, but its like a quart every 2k miles.

someone else said it might be a stuck pulley? Gonna look into that too.

Spray some carb cleaner or WD-40 or something around your intake manifold. It almost sounds like a leak there. Of course, that will only change the idle if it's an intake leak. If it's an exhaust leak, it won't make a bit of difference. It doesn't sound much like a pulley to me, but I'm not a mechanic. I've just been working on my own cars for over 40 years.

I am going to try that too. Im just trying to get a few different opinions on it so I at least have an idea. I don't want to just start unbolting everything and be screwed in the long run.

so, I changed the spark plugs, again. and the noise seemed to have stopped. im slightly confused. im about to take the car out again, and I should know for sure.

nope. didn't help. so gonna run the pully cleaner through. and clean the intake manifold. see if that helps.

Do you hear any kind of noise is you manually rotate the engine, man? I know you can't turn a lot of rpms this way, but if you have a bad pulley or bearing perhaps it would squeak or scrape that way and you can narrow down its location.

I love this car to death, but when I have an issue, its major. There is never an in between, yuh know?
