I am in need of help with my SL2 starting problem. My troubles started a month ago. Drove my car a few miles to go shopping. Came out and got in my car, turned the key and nothing. So I went back in the store. A few minutes later I returned and tried again. It started. Worked fine for a week or two then I encountered the same problem again. After 2 hours of waiting it finally started. Two days ago, I come out of work to leave and my car wouldn''''t start. Returned 4 hours later to get it and still nothing. Tried today and nothing. When I turn the key the panel lights come on and the seat belt chime. It doesn''''t crank at all. My headlights and dome light work. What could be causing this problem and how do I fix it? Sometimes I pop the hood and just press everything to check that all is secure. Most times it would start after that, but not this time. Need HELP ASAP..................Edited by: sw2cam

You guys are on your game.It was indeed the starter. This newbie thanks you. Now can you tell me how to get the cooling fan to work without running the a\c every time I''m stopped at a light or in traffic.

Thisshould beanother easy one ...

Fan obviously works (runs with the A/C on) so no need to check fuses or relay. Replace the Engine Coolent Temp Sensor (ECTS), which is located on the driver''s side of the engine (two wire connector). Also, replace the connector itself, as they tend to fail over time. Make sure the new temp sensor does not have an exposed resin tip, as these tend to fail quickly. Use teflon tape on the new sensor threads.

About $10 to $15 usd for the sensor, and $25 for the connector. Good luck
