2002 Saturn SL2 Gas Gauge Sticks 1/4 a tank
Since i bought this car 4 years ago my fuel gauge will not go under the 1/4 of a tank when it gets low enough. This causes me to not know exactly how much fuel i have and makes it more easier to run out of fuel. Do any of you have an idea of how to fix it and whats wrong with it? I was thinking it may be the sending unit but not sure. Any suggestions??

Most probably the sending unit, although that is a guess. I hate guesses because a lot of time guessing is wrong.
Maybe yours is different, but my 94 coupe only holds 10 gallons of gas which out on the highway gives me about a 300+ mile range depending. Around town with the driving I do with it, 10 gallons does not go too far so I keep the top half full rather than the bottom half. It don't cost anymore and it gives me a reserve if my pocket book is emptier than my gas tank.

I agree with uncljohn about it being the sending unit. However, I don't recommend letting your tank get below 1/4 full anyway. The gasoline in the tank is what keeps your fuel pump cool. If it gets low too often, this could cause it to run hot and lead to premature failure.
