Default 2007 Saturn Vue V6 muffler flange issue

Hello,
Just finished removing and reinstalling the fuel tank in my wife's 2007 Vue. It required removing the exhaust system. When I went to remove the nuts on the connecting flanges, the first one broke the stud off as it was already partially broke. The second one was frozen and I eventually cut it off with an angle grinder/cutoff wheel. I'm at the point of needing to reconnect the pipes. My question is, does any one know how the studs are in the engine side flange? They have a plain round head which gave me hope they are not threaded in, however I can’t seem to get them out still. Any information would be appreciated as I try to come up with a solution to remove them.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, already picked up some carbide bits. I thought worth a try to find out if threaded or not. Just not looking forward to more time under the car in SoCal heat.

I found this today. Looks like what I have to deal with. It’s encouraging that it’s not threaded. Be nice to try a gear puller to press it out. I’ll be successful whichever choice I try.

Try getting it red hot with a torch and then use a ball peen hammer and a center punch to try to knock it out.

Thank you. Tried that before I posted, and after best I could. They were set. I accepted my fate and I drilled them out. 2 hours worth of work.
