My moms radiator fan and a/c are not working. I have checked the fuses/relays, changed the two temperature sensors, and have cleaned all the grounds that I can see. I also changed the motor in the fan, and the PCM (which I just took back out- waste of money). What am I missing?

my brother is going to hot wire the radiator fan, but I would rather not. How would you hot wire it, and is it really safe? Any suggestions on what her problem may be?

thanks

Try a jumper wire across pins 30 & 87 of the fan relay socket; you'll be powering 12v from pin 30 to pin 87 that goes directly to the fan. If the fan still doesn't turn on then test pin 30 for 12v against ground. If good then check for wiring from pin 87 to the fan. You may have to replace the two-wire connector of the coolant sensor that oftens corrodes, preventing good electrical connection between the sensor and the PCM. Find a used one from a junkyard intake air temperature sensor harness. The only problem with hot wiring the fan is that you must remember to switch it off otherwise the battery will go dead unless this hot wiring is in line with the ignition swtich. Try the procedures first before resorting to hot wiring.

The a/c system has probably leaked out requiring finding the source of the leak, repairing it with replacement parts, ensuring a sealed system after repairs then evacuating the entire system and checking for any more leaks before refilling with refrigerant/oil.
