I just found out a few things about saturn automatic transmissions that may save you from having to buy a transmission. If your transmission is shifting hard through any gear besides reverse or second, or if it is shifting hard through all the gears chances are the control unit in the transmission is bad. what you do is take out the intake, then remove the battery box. you will see the top of the transmission with a plug going through the top. remove the plug and then remove the bolts that hold on the cover that covers the top of the transmission. when you take off the cover there is the controll unit. undo all the bolts around the edges and all the bolts in the lower area of the control unit. remove the control unit, replace it bolt it back on put a new seal on the medal cover, bolt the medal cover back on reinstall the battery box the battery and the intake. check the transmission fluid level and you are ready to go!!!
