Default bogging out!!!!

im a newb here driving an 93 sl with the twin cam engine...the car has been great to me...since ive had it ive replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, a motor mount and had the auto trans serviced. the car runs great until the other day (bout 155k miles). out of the blue the car started to bog down big time especially from a start and and wide open throttle. i cant get over 4k rpm. called the familt mechanic ttoday and he thinks its either the cat or the fuel pump. what do you all think?

Is SES light on? If so, please read the ODB I codes using a paperclip on the ALDL (Search the forum) and post.

How much oil do you burn?

I think it is neither the fuel pump nor the converter -- let us help you before you blow a wad of $$$ on things that are not the problem
