Clutch replacingment coming soon.
My daughter split with her husband and is living with me for a while. Their car was in his name so she needed something to drive. So now she has my Saturn. I have nursed it along because the clutch is iffy at best, and told her to go easy. But her head is somewhere else and I don't think it will be long before she trashes it. I should have fixed it but never got around to it. So now I might be forced to do it any day now.
So, is it a one person job or will extra help make it a lot easier? The problem is most of my friends know even less than me about it. I might be able to bribe somebody with beer. I have plenty of tools and an engine hoist. Can it be done in one day? It looks like a big job and maybe that is why I have been putting it off. I did a search for clutch replacement but it came back with no match.

I Took a quick look at 2 of the 3 video's they are really very good. I don't think of looking there either and when I do I find a lot of really great information. The only thing I could add is that I have replaced half shafts on a few front wheel drive cars which is as far as I have gone on those. Rust usually makes it extremely difficult to get the steering knuckle in position to slide the half shaft and CV joint out of the front wheel bearing in the steering knuckle and many times I have disconnected the lower control arm from the car body which I have found to be easier. The front end usually is going to need re-alignment when things are said and done so that is not really a problem.

Glad to help. There are some good things about youtube! LOL I have found a few things I've not been sure about there. Helped one of my brothers change out the blower motor relay on his GMC truck that way. Shop told him it was a five hour job. We did in in an hour.
