Default Engine Coolant Light and Gauge NEED HELP PLEASE!!!

A month ago the engine temperature light started flashing really fast and often along with the engine temp gauge just flickering back and forth for no reason. So had the coolant flushed thinking that was it. No Luck, so had the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Changed still no Luck, then was told by Midas that the Thermostat was sticking and that was it so had that done and still no luck. Car runs fine but the engine coolant/temp light and engine temp gauge keeps coming up and flickering. No bells or sounds just flashes. Car is 2003 L200 with 52000 miles. Any help is greatly appreicated as what else could be causing this!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Default Is there two ECTS'S??????

Are there two ECTS's? I believe the one they replaced was under the reserve tank. I thought the ECTS was on the engine block.
Thanks

Sounds like they replaced the coolant reservoir switch.

The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) is located at the lower left corner of the cylinder head, on the thermostat housing

Thanks, OceanArcher, after looking at the engine again just now they did replace the ECTS. However could there still be an issue with the connection on the ECTS that they over looked? If so what should I look for? Also could the coolant reservoir switch cause this problem?

Thanks

Yes there could be ... If I replace an ECTS, I also replace the connector that attaches to it. Costs an extra $25usd or so (GM part), but it gets rid of annoying intermittant connections.

Coolant reservoir switch (the boat) can get gummed up if the wrong coolant is/was used. Most times, simply removing the tank and flushing it with vigorous shaking will free it up, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and replace it.

Usually you can get that connector at a GM dealership. Check locally and see who took over the Saturn dealership nearest you, they often absorbed the remaining parts inventory and technical staff. For me, it's a Cadillac dealership in Mobile, off I-65 ...
