HELP!! Dealer ruined motor
Okay, we took our 04 VUE V6 (135K miles) in to get the timing belt replaced and they did that. They took it for a test drive and it "slipped". They have had it an extra day now to "fix damage" without giving us details. We have a friend who works there who said, "Oh, that car? They ruined the motor."
We are moving out of state so now we need to be sure they pay to fix whatever might break going forward.
ALSO, what kind of questions do I need to ask them about what might be broken? I want to be sure and get the full story out of them and cover myself!!!
Thank you!

Other than being ticked because it happened to your car, if they ruined the motor it was most probably catastrophic so the replacement is either a very extensive rebuild or a perfectly good replacement motor. I don't know what Saturn product used a Timing Belt but that is a common item for many engines to both be used and cause major damage when broken or installed incorrectly or slipped.
I would ask for the work to be documented as to parts used and if there is a warrentee and show proper indignation that YOUR car was damaged. If they fixed it right, I am sure that it will run as good as ever and for as long as ever, if they fixed it wrong considering the problem as described, it probably still does not run.
