I have a 2000 saturn sl1, and the idle seems to be way off. its running at 2500-2800 rpms in idle. i've replaced the Idle air control, tps, spark plugs, cleaned the air intake manafold and put on a new muffler to check for back pressure. But none of this has lowered the idle, anyone have any other ideas?

temperature sensor

but as long as you changed the muffler for an idle problem why not try putting a new not used tail light in, think that will help?

is the check engine light on? i would spray carb cleaner around cylinder 1 on the intake manifold to see if the idle changes.

< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </>muffler wasnt my idea, fathers. was told my saturn auto tech guys that it might be the Coolant temp sensor, changed it and still no change. and already have cleaned out the cylinder and intake manifold with carb cleaner before, no change either. reset my computeralso and checked codes, nothing read though.Possibly fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator? < =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-47"; urchinTracker(); </>< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </>< =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-47"; urchinTracker(); </>

Check for vacuum leaks. Had a similar problem with a friends SL1. Dealer told him he neaded a new intake manifold gasket and wanted to charge several hundered dollars to replace it.

Turned out the vacuum line going to the CCP solenoid on the back of the engine came off. Fixed it for free in under a minute.
