Intermittent High Idle, Hard Shift into Reverse & 3rd Gear and Up
#12
I actually have extensive information on the transmission for that thing. And as much as I like my 1994 coupe, I have no desire to get inside the automatic transmission unless I was sure I could resolve a problem by doing so.
What is needed is any error code that points into a direction of what is going on. With out that, as far as I am concerned my lack of knowledge in General on automatics and specifically my complete lack of desire on pulling one makes me think that looking for a new car considering age and mileage might be the best approach.
Neglect on maintence and heat are the two worst enemies of an automatic transmission. Once the fluid is damaged and the car continues to be driven it is all down hill from there.
So if you have the codes information can be looked up. Passed that, I am not sure what the best approach would be.
