I own a 94 saturn SC1 coupe. I love the car but now can not take a chance to drive it anywhere. The transmission leaks. When I pour fluid in, the fluid comes out the bottom on the right. The trany isn't broke, but was told it was probably a seal or o-ring. I would like to save me some money and learn a bit by doing this work my self. What i need to know is do i have to PULL the trany to replace a seal or o-ring, i don't think i have to. A schematic or something would also be great to have to help me out. I was told i might be able to pull the axles and replace it but I would like to know for sure.

Thankx

Is there a way to figure out which seal is gone without tearing it all apart?

is it garage kept? i so, get a bunch of newspaper, and line the area under the car...then do whatever it is that makes it leake...mark where the wheels are, and when you back it out, you can see where abouts the fluid is leaking...or at least ending up...or, jack the car up, and crawl under...look for the wettest spot...that should be your leak area...ive tried them all..believe me..i spent ages trying to find a tranny leak on a 76 vette...

Well on the rightside on bottomof the tranny there is a .... sleeve i guess you could call it. a small space you can just fit your finger in, why it is there i don't know, its a few inches long and only about 1/2 in wide, but that is where the fluid comes out.

i would check and make sure that it is not a pressure ventof some sort...because then plugging it could be very bad.
