What year SL2 do you have?

Yes, there is another fuse panel inside the seating area of the car

OK -- Look for the fuse that says -> BODY 10A <- It's fuse #18 on your Instrument Panel Junction Block (IPJB) ........ bottom row, second from the left .....

The IPJB is located on the passenger's side of the center console below the edge of the dashboard, under a cover........

I'm a bit puzzled here - "temp boat" - ??

Engine Coolant Temperature Gage

This gage measures the
temperature of the
vehicle’s engine. If the
indicator needle moves
into the shaded area, the
engine is too hot. A
temperature indicator light
will turn on and a chime
will sound.

Low Coolant Warning Light

This light comes on briefly
when you turn your
ignition on.
If this light comes on and stays on, the coolant level in
your vehicle is low. If the light is on along with an
overheat warning, you may have a serious overheating
problem.

temp boat (?)

if its the coolant level light, and the coolant in the reservoir tank is not low, the coolant level switch in the bottom of the reservoir may be stuck/gummed up/defective

if that coolant boat is not this float then seems you've got my goat

Look in your coolant reservoir -- is the anti-freeze clear, or does it look like the mocha frappe you got from Starbucks this morning?

Also check the oil in the engine -- is there any indication of muddy brown on the dipstick?

sounds like the thermostat is stuck open .that would make your temp gauge very erratic.
when a thermostat sticks open the coolant flows to fast and doesnt get cooled properly .

do you hear or feel the fan kicking on?
