mg2, check the link from OceanArcher. It covers a lot. And there are other links from there. I found out that none of the parts are available. They were dealer only which now means bone yard only.

If you are looking for the air pump --- they ARE still available.

Price will be between $125 and $200 depending on which one you need. Plus shipping.

If interested - send a direct mail to me and include the last 8 characters of your VIN, so I can be sure of the proper unit.

These are OEM units, brand new, not refurbished items ..........

That is good news. I was at NAPA getting parts for my truck and asked about the Saturn parts in case I need them and was told dealer only. I pictured myself going from junk yard to junk yard trying to find a good one. This car is so good I never had to do anything except change the oil, plugs, and filters, and some basic maintenance like brakes. I am really sorry they stopped making them. Where is the best place for parts?

Actually - Most GM dealerships can order/obtain/have parts for your Saturn. I'd scout around your area, and look at the business cards of the various dealerships. Any of them that have the Saturn name included on their card would be a really good place to look for what you need ........

Well my first try did not work. The light came back on. If I disconnect the hose on the air pump should I be able to feel the air come out with the engine running?

I will check into the dealers. The 2 Saturn dealers around here were owned by the big local Ford dealer. That has since become a Toyota dealer. I will keep checking n it so I can get parts.

In my area too the Saturn dealers became other dealers also. The local area dealer became a Volkswagon dealer but advertised (for a while anyway) to repair Saturns but I suspect mostly a marketing ploy. The Chevy dealer down the road became an outlet for Saturn parts. You will have to stop at various GM dealerships to see if they picked up the service and/or have the capability of ordering parts.
I am sure that after a short period of time, being visible from the road will dissappear in fact I think it has now anyway.
As a general comment though, having bought a lot of parts from dealers over the years, as times have changed and cars have become far more complex than they ever were and frankly needed fewer parts as they are also far more reliable than they used to be. Parts departments have gotten a bit aloof in how they treat your requests for things. Unless you are a deep pockets repair organization droping tons of money at a time buying expensive assemblies, rather than an avalable part to repair one of the assemblys your self.
Not all, but some. Change some times is hard to accept, other times? I'm not sure that it was worth it.

Well it seems like when it rains it pours. I am still working on one of the original problems with the air pump, and now the horn went off in the middle of the night and would not stop. I pulled the fuse for now. But worse, I let my daughter go to the store this morning and got a call she broke down. This time it seems like it might be the trans linkage. It is in gear and the shifter doesn't seem to be connected to much. It will go forward and back but not side to side. (AAA brought it back). And it does not take it out of gear or change gears. The car will roll if the clutch is in. Is this a common problem? Any direction on what I should look for? I probably have to wait a day of so until I have time to jack it up and crawl under to look. Or can I take anything off around the shifter to see in there? Thanks again for any help.

pull the center console. The plastic shifter bushing which holds the shift cable ends onto the shifter has likely failed

Ok, I pulled the console. The center shift lever came loose. Was there something holding it in? It just falls out now. The hole is bigger than the pin from the shifter. Also, whatever is missing, where can I get one?

You can search for bushings and then buy them over and over if you like, or you can replace the shifter cables that have streched that cause the bushing to break in the first place.

Shifter cable .... get the good ones from the dealer, or the crap ones that dorman makes, if they still make them.
