I just bought a 1996 Saturn SL1 with 133000 miles. Now I find out that my dashboard light don't work and my fuel guage isn't working. Are these easy and inexpensive fixes. Also what do I do to fix the dashboard light. Is that a fuse issue and if so where. Ican't find it on the panels!!!!

They are in the engine compartment on the driver's side and in front of the wheel well inside a black plastic box marked fuses. At the auto parts store ask for a combination fuse setwith tester ($4-5) for the smallest blade type fuses. The tester has 2 pins which slide back & forth to fit various blade type fuse widths. Set itas narrow as it will go.Looking down on your fuses you will see they are marked to indicate their amperage and worded alongside the fuses as to what they affect. Take the tester and place it's pins onto the top of the fuses you suspect so the pins touchthe small metal fuse parts adjacentthe fuses' listed amperage. The tester has a small bulb which will light up if the fuse is OK. If it doesn't replace it. (you may have to practise & sometimes jiggle the pins onto their target) If the fuse continues to blow out it's time to take it into the shop for diagnostics.
