Replacing Headlight Drive Motor
Okay guys, last week I posted a question wanting to know if anyone had any tips about replacing the headlight drive motor. Well, today I decided to go ahead and tackle it myself and it wasn't too bad. You have to remove the metal piece that is between the grille and the hood latch in order to access the 3 10mm bolts that hold the motor in. You also have to remove the entire headlight assembly. All in all it only took me about 40 minutes. So, not a bad job. I also took advantage of the nice day to change the transmission fluid and filter. I swear that this must not have ever been done as the filter that I took off was a genuine Saturn filter. Now, I'm not a big man, but I'm no pipsqueek either. I stand 5'11" and weigh in at 195. It took me both hands with a filter wrench to get that damned tranny filter loose. After letting it drain for about an hour and then putting in a fresh gallon of Dexron, it shifts a lot nicer now, so I'm happy with it. I'm going to have to find another instrument cluster for it, as I can't determine mileage because my odometer doesn't work. Looks like another trip to Pull-A-Part in in the future! Yaaaaayyyy!
