same problem w/ bubbly transmission fluid
sorry I can't help you out but my wife's 2001 Saturn SC2 started exhibiting the same symptoms TODAY
drove it this weekend ....... fine
today it clunks hard every gear change up and down (it's an auto)
I checked the fluid correct level and it has bubbles in it which I thought was odd
I'm taking it to a garage for an overall checkup to make sure I'm not putting a bunch of money in a tranny on a vehicle that has a lot of other serious problems about to manifest
then then a transmission estimate, then I'll decide what to do
It is due for a tranny fluid change (manual says 100K miles it's at 99,600) but it's hard for me to believe that fluid would cause symptoms this suddenly
or could the viscosity suddenly go bad and hence the bubbles??
anyhow whatever I find out I'll post back here and see if it helps you out
really good post on changing your own tranny fluid at Saturnalia
says it's easier than changing your oil
