Hello everyone I'm new to the site but I have owned my Saturn for goin on seven years now, I just recently bought a new motor for my 2000 Saturn ls1 and I'm trying to figure out what is the max size pipe I can use for my header. I have found a two and a half inch but is that to big??

Accounts that are not active get shut down SOONER not later.
The 2.0L ecotec Redline runs 2.5 (factory)
The 2.4L ecotec ION runs 2.5 (factory)
The 2.2L ecotec ION runs 2.00 or 2.225 (factory)
It's common for people to use 2.50 pipes on 2.2L ION's
It's common for people to use 2.25 pipes on 1.9L S-series
So where they come up with 1.75 on L-series is beyond me

I'm not exactly sure how they came up with that figure I'm still new to the aftermarket performance world. I'm just trying to figure out what I should buy lol. Now the big question because I cannot find an application of the ls model how would I go about figure out what header I should buy? Do I need a custom application?
