Hello all, My name is Mindy - I live in Michigan - I just bought a 93 Saturn SOHC as my "winter" car. I have been shocked at the gas mileage with this ole girl. I have been putting some love and money into her cause she is so reliable. I have recently set her up with a new Kenwood Excelon CD player and getting ready to wire her all up for some amps and subs - I never thought I would buy another small car but I have to admit - This Saturn is a true gem! I don't have many issues with her as of yet. Going to a Saturn from a Buick Roadmaster is a switch. My Buick is a gas hog but I love her. Smooth ride but I pay for it at every stop to the gas station lemmy tell ya. Anywho... I’m new here trying to learn tips and tricks with working on my Saturn. I know a few things myself about cars and will be willing to add my 2 cents whenever I see an option

Welcome Mindy! Excellent winter beater choice. My 92 SOHC has never stranded me in the Wisconsin winter (knock on wood) and still runs great with 140K+ miles.

Hey, what kinda amps are you going to go with? I've been waiting to get a new one, and was curious what other people found to be the best bang for the buck

Im a Kenwood junkie from way back. I just bought another KDC-X679 deck for the Saturn and with me (being a girl and all ) I have to match - so I am going to go with a Kenwood 900 or 1000 watt amp for the thump and maybe a 600 watt 4 channel for my highs. I have never used Kenwoods subs though - I have heard nothing but bad things about their sub speakers - so for the box in the trunk I'll be going with either 2 - 12" MTX or Fosgates I dunno yet. Oh, and I just received a XM radio for Christmas for the ole girl too - 170 satellite channels (no more commercials or fading out stations for me) This has got to getting my Buick jealous, I have never gotten her a satellite radio - LOL
