Got my first Saturn over a year ago, really like it. Prior to that was a loyal Ford fan, since my first Mustang in ''72. Worked on friends cars, first car was brought home in boxes, had to assemble Peugeot to drive it, was OK car. First Mustang was a ''66, removed 6 cyl and dropped in 289 V8, learned a lot then. Worked on C-130s in VietNam, Pope AFB and Germany. Worked on C-124s for Air Guard. Had side business in North Carolina of building Ford engines for area racers, got pretty good at it.
Got Commercial pilot''s license while at Andrews AFB, DC. Retired, got gov''t job, bought 1960 Piper Aztec, spent 5 years rebuilding it. That earned my A&P license from the FAA. Have a 1990 Mustang GT that only the un-informed will try, blown 347 stroker with T6 trans and 3.73 rear end. Smokes tires at half throttle. Mustang was no longer suited for city traffic. That brings me to the Saturn, bought a used ''97 SW2, DOHC, auto trans w/factory air. Wanted something easy on gas and easy in traffic. It had reverse issues, ended up getting a junk trans and rebuilding it, then swapping out tranmsissions at 180K, rebuilt one works like a swiss watch. Oil light kept coming on while stopped at traffic lights and burning 1 qt of oil every tank of gas or so, replaced mains and rod bearings and pistons/rings at 193K, up till now it ran great, 34-36 mpg. it''s having a problem with #2 misfiring now, plug is soaked with gas and drinking gas like a jet. Other 3 plugs are clean, idle smooths out above 1500 rpm, can''t notice any real power loss above 2000, come to stop and it shakes bad, almost dies. Read my original post on Cylinder 2 misfire to get all details.

-Check for oil in the spark plug wells, could be shorting the spark plug causing it not to fire and flooding that cylinder.
-Has the ECTS ever been replaced?
