so far i like it even for being a 6'6" tall guy i fit in it very well and with both kids and the wife every one can fit in it and i think i will even fit the dog when we go to the cabin.

well just to day i took it in a good drive 279 miles and i was getting 37mpg but after fixing a few things that are wrong i am hopping that i can get about 40mpg out of her. well i hope i can help out on this sight as much as i can but i am a truck driver and can not get on all the time but when i can i will help out thanks for having me

I have one that same color. I like to call it Seamist. Mine is a 5spd with 232K on the clock. It has the original clutch, and the AC still works. It is still one of my favorite cars. I hope yours brings you as much enjoyment as mine does.

That copper color you refer to is pretty, but in this day and age of the traffic tickets approaching the $200 usd mark or more, sometimes its better to just fade into the surrounding traffic .....

Good Luck with your Saturn Chevy338, I myself just registered a 2001 SL and so far so good.

There is one concern I do have concerning the 2001 SL. Is it typical to have the throttle body coated with soot around the butterfly? I put a new throttle position sensor in and upon removing the throttle body there was a significant amount of carbon in that butterfly area. It has 84,000 miles so I figured, engines do get dirty. Yet 2 weeks later I removed the throttle body so change the throttle air control and the area that I cleaned was again as dirty as the first time I cleaned it. That can't be normal, the other concern is that the engine vibrates at idle is that a characteristic for a 4 cylinder?

If the vibration is excessive (you'll have to make that call), then I'd look to replace the top motor mount on the passenger's side of the engine -- they do fail

or just pull each wire and see what cylinder is giving you the problem and go from there
