New User; my 2nd car was a Saturn that kept me safe, now I'm a grateful fan for life
Hey, I'm new; Hello!
I moved to America in 2002 after learning to drive in Britain. I've never been a "car person" like the rest of my family, so I never cared about what car I drive. I just want whatever I drive to be stick shift, that used to be my only preference.
My second car was a 2000 Saturn SL2 that I bought in ~2005 which I got to over 200,000 miles before I hit a tree at 40mph. I already liked the car, but I didn't even get whiplash from that accident which made me love it.
So I got my second Saturn with the insurance money, a 2001 Saturn SC1. I call it my Champagne Saturn, and I adore it. I've treated it pretty badly over the last few years after it sat in my driveway for over 12 months due to a brain injury preventing me from driving. However, I've now started treating it better and I've fallen in love with it all over again.
Now my only preference is that my car is stick shift and a Saturn.
I'm just here in the hopes that I can learn some new things about my ride and figure out how to keep it in top shape so it'll keep driving my happy **** around for another 10yrs/200,000 miles.
Thanks for having me!

welcome, BW!!
Gotta love those crumple zones.
3k mi dino oil changes will keep your new baby happy. If you got your SL2 to 200k you must already be on top of it. 10W30 except in the winter (5W30) if there is one where you live.
Many great minds on this forum; knowledgeable, creative, and obsessive.
Lotta playful digs at each other, all in good fun.
