Default New Toy

Hey guys whats going on, its been a while since Ive been on here. Been working quite alot. The saturn is doing fine, although ive had my few troubles with it. I lost my brakes a few weeks ago, that was quite a scary experience haha. I came very close to losing my motor, since somehow the bolts for the lower motor mount backed out, when I found it there was one bolt left in it, loosly. Tightened that all up and I was good to go. Unfortunately for right now im waiting to put my new tires on. But thats ok, I got something new to play around in.

Went and found myself my favorite truck of all time.
I got a 1997 Ford F250, 7.3 Diesel with a 5spd. Its got 133k on it and its worked up a bit. 4.10 lsd, oversized turbo, intercooler, exhaust with downpipe, and its chipped. Its in pretty good shape too, needs a few things but eh Ill deal with em. Thing hauls ***, cant wait to tow with it.

Dont worry, I dont plan on getting rid of the saturn any time soon

Looks like a great find on the Ford. I'm not a Ford man, but that doesn't mean that's not a nice truck. As far as the bolts coming loose on your Saturn, I'd recommend you put some thread lock on them now that you know they backed off. Not the heavy duty red stuff, but the mid grade blue.

Thanks man, ive always been a ford guy and the saturn opened me up to other cars lol. I actually used the heavy duty red stuff, figuring that I wont be taking the motor out anywhere in the near future (hopefully lol)

The red is heavy duty stuff, but with the proper tools and torque, none of it is permanent! I doubt that you'll have that problem again, man. Carry on.

Those diesels have become far more drivable in recent years. 'Specially the Turbo models. And they can grunt when asked too. I took care of one for a lady for a while after her husband died and I was in awe of how fast the thing was. And the brakes were humongous. After putting many miles on my Chrysler T&C and don't take me wrong I absolutely love the car, the brakes are at best marginal. The Diesel Dodge truck must have brakes big enough to stop a semi and running empty there is not enough wear on them with 100k on the clock to even say that they have been used.
Go Figure.

Honestly, if its a diesel, 100k is only the start. Mines got 134k on it, and it hauls ***. The turbo in this one is set up for top end power because of the 4.10s, once the turbos spooled, your gone lol. 5th gear on the highway @65mph/2450 ish rpm, pushing about 3-4 lbs of boost, you punch it and it spools up to about 20-22 lbs and it just climbs. Ive hit the limiter quite a few times hahaha.

My friend has my year F350 diesel, but with about 288k on it. These things run forever. Keep 'em maintained, keep 'em clean, and you'll keep 'em forever.
