Wifes new car
2014 KIA EX sedan
Pictures on page two.
Lots of crap on this car like backup camera, heated power folding mirrors w/turn indicators, 173hp 2.0L 4 banger, auto dimming mirror w/compass and HOMELINK, LED headlamp surrounds, projection xenon headlamps, foglamps, chrome exhaust tip, Sirius radio, tweeters, Bluetooth, UVO system, USB and Ipad port, telescoping steering, dual lighted vanity mirrors, along with the adjustable armrest my ION's came with that does not sound like much but I sure as hell like. Not to mention a long long list of other standard items. Added carpeted floor mats, cargo net, and rear bumper applique thats a clear bra that covers the top of the bumper at the trunk so my wife does not scratch the hell out of it when loading. Retail price $20,790 and we got 2k in discounts bringing it down to $18,790. So after looking at so many compact cars including. CRUZE,CIVIC,DART,FOCUS,SENTRA,COROLLA,MAZDA3 and more. Nothing came close to the Forte in price via the HP and equipment.
We still have two SATURN'S in the family, down from the 2007 count of SIX.....my 2007 ION-3 2.4L and my youngest Daughters 2007 ION-2 2.2L. My ION has just over 45K on it and Em's ION has just over 90K on it both paid for. Not to mention the 2006 Solstice has also been sold, to someone we all know. If GM doesn't add some hp and hatch to the CRUZE they will be replaced by more non GM cars.

Nice whip. That 2.0 is a great engine if I'm correct in thinking it's the 2.0 world engine. I had one in an 08 Caliber and never had a bit of trouble out of it. But, in all fairness, it only had 65,000 miles on it when it got totaled by a meth head teenager hitting me head on.

A lot of cars can be had with a 2.0L. The GM ecotec 2.0 was either supercharged or turbocharged. This car is a touch lighter than my ION @ 2837 lbs and it feels as strong as the ION. We shall see how good this engine and car as a whole turns out. Warranty kicks *** with 5 year 60k bumper to bumper and 10year 100k powertrain. A lot of cars can be had with more HP if you spend the money to get it, but when you spend the money to get the big hp you also have to spend more to get the equipment that's standard on this car. The price sure starts to climb to the top of the tree.

First Gen
2.0L 156hp@6,200rpm 144ft lbs@4,300rpm LX,EX model
2.4L 173hp@6,000rpm 168ft lbs@4,000rpm SX model
173hp First gen SX had good power evan with the auto. It's no Mazda Speed 3 or Focus ST but it had the power to get out of it's own way. That's the way it is with the second GEN's (GDI) engine and fuel delivery system.
LX engine is now 148hp
EX engine is now 173hp
SX engine is now 201hp
I have the EX Sedan as no SX's are coming to market till sept along with the 5 door and Koup. Yes Koup, that's the name, and way KIA likes to market it.

Stopped over and took a look. That's a nice car, as Rj said it's what the ION could have been, had GM not been so screwed up when they brought the Astra over here. I'll look hard at one of those when I go for a new car.

Oh and thanks for giving me the time to come up with the cash for the Solstice.
Yes I'm now the owner of a Pontiac Solstice. It's not a turbo and it's not a SKY but the price Rj sold it to me for was to hard to resist.
Octavious you should go road test a new one. I hammered Rj's and it's pretty stout. I think it's faster than the 2.4L ION. It's not the Hot Hatch like the Speed 3 his son bought, but the car pulls good for a non turbo 4.
