Sometimes the squeeze connector gets cracked and you lose connection. Check that little sum beech and make sure it's not cracked.

Hi derf,

ECTS was replaced because the car would not get up to the proper operating temperature. It was running cold, only about at the quarter mark on the temp gauge. Since replacement it operates around the half way mark on the temp gauge.

As to the connector on the ECTS, I can't find it. I thought I knew where it was, but turns out I don't!

Look at the front of the engine on the drivers side. It's in the head between the battery and engine. It's a little low on the head, towards the transmission. I hope that makes sense to you. I don't have a picture, but if you do a search here on ECTS, I'm sure you'll find a pic or two showing it's location.

Unfortunately I won't get to. Someone bought her off of me. I have to say, I really wish I had the time and know-how to put the work into it myself. This seems like a great forum, and it's helped me a few times over the years. Lots of times googling a problem led me here.

as for the ECTS, it was providing wrong temp info and screwing up the air fuel mixture, but it hs nothing to do with the car getting to operating temperature. That's physics.

The new ECTS simply demonstrates that the car was indeed running at a proper operating temperature. Good thing the mechanic started at the right place and didn't just replace the thermostat and hit you for $$$ THEN replace the ECTS and tell you both were bad.....
