2000 Saturn SC1- Oil and other problems
#1
Well... My car has just reached 101,000 miles... I love my car. It's beautiful, has mods, etc. The car is almost 10 years old and it seems that I'm having this "burning oil" problem. I have to put oil in my car everytime I put gas in. The dealership said it would cost thousands to fix it, more than the car is worth. I just put brand-new brakes on for $300, including the rotors. The "check service light" goes on about 1+ times per month. Usually it's just something little like that gas cap isn't on all the way - apparently it was rusted! The car guys wondered why it was rusted when it's plastic on metal. I have to be EXTREMELY careful when I put gas in my car as it's touchy. It just went on again. I Have to take in the car the third time in one week... I also had problems with it starting in the summer, 90 degree weather, and it stalls out, yet no problems in the winter? weird... they just replaced the fuel filter for $200!I'm putting so much money into this car... Does anyone know how to fix an oil problem? I'm tired of taking it to the shop... They over charge... I was also told by guys at work that oil problems lead to engine problems. I don't want my engine to go bad! HELP!Should I get a new car? Not a saturn???- June, helpless female...
