Default 95 SC1 emergency brake light

Okay, my son took my daughter to her physical therapy today in the Saturn. He called a few minutes ago and said that the emergency brake light was on. I asked him if the car was dragging or having any problems moving and he said no. So I just told him to drive it home. It's 40 miles from here, so I'm just waiting for them to get home before I can check it out. Other than the obvious of checking brake fluid level and the button on the end of the e-brake lever, are there any other problem spots I may need to check first. I'm gonna pull the rear wheels and check the brakes tomorrow, weather permitting. I put rear shoes on it several months ago along with new hardware, but not new wheel cylinders. I wonder if one has started leaking?

It's probably the emergency brake light switch. Those early models aren't sophisticated enough to diagnose a problem within the emergency brake system.

Thanks for the reply, Howie. I'll check that out today, time permitting and the rain holding off.
