i have a 95 saturn sc1 it only has 75k miles on it yesterday morn i went out to start it and nothing not a click or a crank out of the engine i checked the battery cables and put a new battery in it.the lights and the radio both work but still nothing out of the engine im stumped as to what could be causing it as the starter was showing no signs of going bad.i checked the starter wires as well.

Just an idea, is it a manual? If so, maybe the clutch safety switch has died or gone out of adjustment. That's the switch that prevents the starter working until you're fully on the clutch. If it's an auto, I don't know if there's some equivalent like a park sensor? Other than that the starter solenoid might be jammed/fused.

ok heres an update i sent the car to a mechanic to fix it.it cost me 300 dollars the guy with the tow truck bottomed out the car and now the exhaust leaks.but now my car is idling so rough it dies and is bellowing white smoke like a cigar factory.it never did this before.it always ran smooth and i never had any probs with it.i took it back to him and he tried to tell me he had nothing to do with this issue.i checked the plugs wires and the head gasket all of them are fine what did this guy do to my car im wondering now

Well SOHC heads are prone to cracking. That could be the cause of the white smoke. But that wouldnt of caused it original problem.
