Alternator
#2
Well, here is what my notes say:
Three wires are involved in that connector ... BRN-WHT wire should connect to terminal F; the BRN wire should connect to terminal L; the remaining wire should connect to terminal P. Terminal S is unused.

1991-1995:
S - Unused
F - Brown/White -Ignition
L - Brown - Battery Charge Tell Tale
P - Unused
The only other wire involved with the alternator is the fusable link that goes from the charging terminal on the alternator to the constant positive on the starter. Then from there it goes off to the battery.Edited by: Low Saturn

Charging Circuit Operation:
The battery supplies voltage to the generator at all times. During engine start-up, the I/P cluster performs a bulb check by illuminating charge telltale for three seconds. The PCM supplies 5 volts to the generator L-terminal to initiate charging. The system charges the battery and provides power to the vehicle electrical devices. The PCM can increase idle speed to boost generator output if the battery voltage drops below specification. If the charging circuit malfunctions, the PCM signals the I/P cluster to illuminate the charge telltale.
