Exclamation Automatic transmissions

Has anyone else had major issues with their automatic transmissions? I have 1999 Saturn SC2 and in the 2 1/2 years that I have owned it i have replaced the transmission and my car is now broke down in the driveway waiting for another transmission. I'm wondering if its just my car or if Saturn has had some problems with them. Also if there is a way to prevent my next replaced transmission from going out within the next year. I like my car... but hate the transmission.

Actually that is a common issue with Saturn S series cars. It may be a valve body problem. You'll have to contact Specialforces as he is the tranny specialist. Describe your symptoms to him and he will fix you up.

Prime reason for trying to use factory-trained repair persons whenever possible. The techs from my local dealership have all moved to the nearby GM store, so I still have a cadre of 'Saturn smart' people to depend upon....

Lil/Coilster -- how many miles on those trannies?

Lil-- What are and were the symptoms of your tranny woes? Per OA, valve bodies are not uncommon and are much cheaper than an entire new tranny you may not need.

Also, those tranny shops are notorious for throwing new trannys at everything under the sun. Big ticket item, big profit. Once had them tell me I needed a tranny rebuild (Ford Grenada)---turned out there was not enough vacuum to have it stay in gear (I came in telling them about the vac leak) They tried to scare me into it. I drove away after the diag fee.
Beware.
