Default electric fan not working need help asap!

well heres my situation, i have a 92 saturn sc that i bought for a 1,000 bucks to get me to and from school the problem is the car runs so hot it could eventually overheat if i dont turn the heat on. we replaced the fan motor first and then it worked but it would come on when u started the car so we were informed that it shouldnt be running until the car warms up so we were told to replace the water temp sensor so we did and now it doesnt work so the car almost overheats by the time i make it to school can i get a little bit of advice thanks

early SOHC engines usually went to the 3/4mark on the gauge before the fan came on. You did right in changing the temp sensor. Driving at highway speeds should force enough air through the radiator to keep the temperature near the halfway mark. If you are really concerned, run the A/C on maximum, this will trigger the fan to run, bypassing the temp sensor.
