Lost keyfob
Here's the problem. The ignition key and keyfob were lost this weekend (out of town). Fortunately the Saturn stayed in town. We have an aftermarket key for the car but the alarm is set. The key will turn, all the proper dash lights come on but the engine doesn"t turn over. I've had this happen before and by turning the alarm off using the fob, I'm able to start the car without a problem. I have the horn disconnected temporily while I deal with this. Without the fob, I'm dead in the water. How can I disable the alarm so I can get it started until I get a new fob? It's a '99 SC2.
Secondly, how do I program a new fob to work with the car?

I have a pair of fobs for your car. $25.00 for the pair, it's easy, jump (paper clip) pin 4 and 8 of the test port under the right side of dash then hold both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time till you get a beep. You must do this with each fob one at a time.

Personally, I have found that after-market key copies never seem to work properly. I would bum a ride to the nearest dealership, and have a key cut from the VIN code. RjION has the method to reset the security system, so it should be no time to get your car running again....
If you don't buy the fobs RjION has, you can get one(s) at the dealership too. Probably more expensive at the dealer though ....

Thanks for the quick response guys. RjION, you were right on the money. I wish I had time on my side and could have waited for your fobs to be shipped. The @#%&* dealer dinged me $130.00 +tax for one. (of course this is Canadian dollars so that"s like $3.56 American LOL). Programmed it in, started the coupe, and now the whole ugly incident is history. Again, my thanks.
Oh, by the way, the dealer insisted that this can't be the problem. I would need to have the car towed to them to likely replace the starter and also have them program a new fob.
