Default New Saturn owner, have a few questions?

I just bought a manual 1999 Saturn SC2, its in great conditon for it's age but of course it can use a little bit of work.
For one, my break lights wont come on... I'm thinking its the backup switch that needs to be replaced? and I was wondering where the switch can be found. Also, my lights dim slightly when I press the break pedal could it be the battery or the alternator?
Thanks

The brake light switch is located on a bracket at the top of the brake pedal. When the brake pedal is depressed, the switch activates the brake lights.

The back-up light switch is located on the top of the transaxle.

The two switches mentioned above are different from one another.

Which lights dim when you press on the brake pedal?

The alternator may be weak, or the positive battery cable may be rotting from the inside due to battery acid.

Welcome to the Forum, and if you have more questions, please place them in the sections devoted to them, thanks....

I put in a new backup light switch and that fixed the problem, just took a little but of trouble shooting.
As for the lights dimming, I am having the car inspected tomorrow and I'll ask the dude at the shop to check my electrical and charging system and see whats up.
