Possible fuel pump problem? 2002 SC
Last week I jumped in my car, started it up, went around the corner, and it died. It would crank, but not start. I checked the little fuel pressure thing by the engine and nothing squirted out. I figured it was the fuel pump. Odd thing was the fuel tank was showing empty. I even thought maybe it got siphoned while I was out and but another gallon in.
Of course I get it towed, the tech jumps in, starts right up. Couldn't get it to die. Now the gauge is showing a half tank! We were thinking about doing the fuel pump anyways but the tech was thinking maybe it was an electrical issue instead?
So over the past week a couple times it's tried to die. On the highway this morning it did it while I was trying to go over 60, I would ease off the gas and it would stay on. After a couple minutes it drove normal again. I had pulled the fuse panel on the passenger side of the console and could hear the relays clicking as the car tried to shut down, but I don't know if it was all of them or just for the fuel.
Any thoughts or similar experience? The fuel pump is such a pricey thing I'm hesitant to get it done.

sounds more like your battery is not holding a charge, your alternator is not charging it sufficiently, or you have a loose connection.
Check positive battery connection and cables at battery and at alternator.
Also check ground cable at battery.
