SC2 Power door locks popping unlocked after locking
this morning I went to lock my 95 SC2 with the power door lock switch on the drivers side.
It locked. Then immediately jumped back to the unlocked position.
Took me 4 tries to get it to stay locked.
No problems tonight on ride home.
I did a bit of a SEARCH, but my results seemed to find cases where the door lock switch itself failed and either constantly fired closed (thus killing the battery) or chattered the switch (also killing battery)
Ideas?
Questionable P.D.L. relay?

IF your car has a body control module, BCM, that may be the problem. The BCM usually controls this function on modern cars. If you have one, try checking the plug for corrosion. Sometimes just unplugging and plugging the wire harness from these four or five times will "sweep" the contacts clean. If the Saturn doesn't have a BCM, then I don't have a clue.

Sorry Derf, forgot about the '95 circuitry. I suspect the door keylock switch (the one that triggers with the key from outside the car) may be the culprit. As the keylocks age, the key tends to release from the lock mechanism before the lock fully returns to the neutral position, thereby allowing the contacts on the keyswitch to remain activated (intermittantly).

Not the same function but could be the same problem......The DIC controls on the SOLSTICE had been action up for days. Either they didn't work at all or they didn't work correctly. I hosed them out with a can of tuner cleaner and they are back to normal. So it just may be that it needs to be cleaned out.
PS: I didn't evan remove the fool thing from the steering wheel, just hosed the switch using the little straw provided.
