Default sc2 trouble codes

ok guys got a few trouble codes .what led me to run the codes was a poor idle .
codes are as follows

po300 multiple misfire(fixed)
po302 cyl 2 misfire(fixed, cleaned and reinstalled all plugs)
po637 power steering circuit high (power steering works and i leave it at that)
po789 shift timing solenoid intermittent (this is the biggie ,after some looking it appears this would be a shift solenoid in the trans itself )

the trans did start shifting funny a few months back ,at first i thought it was the lower trans mount so i replaced the trans mount and the top motor mount .but the funny shifting prevailed ,didnt think to run the codes .

so how a big a job is this?still runs fine just shifts a little funny(jerky) my reading led me to info that it torque convertor lockup related .

they say you can keep on driving but you will lose some mileage .

ok guys i know you been dying for some posts so lets have at it !

and what the heck is a u1096.scp (j1850) invalid missing data?

I don't have an FSM or even a Haynes manual so I can't help you man, but if you call your local Autozone or Advance, they should be able to tell you what those codes indicate. If not, just hang loose and one of the members here will enlighten you.

Sounds like the transmission needs to be cleaned, flushed, and a new filter put in. The control passages are getting clogged, and not letting the tranny work to maximum efficiency and economy

Hey OA, are all of those codes transmission related? I'm just curious.

Transmissions are kinda funny. if you ignore them these days and they start to fail they have a tendency to get worse. With all the electronics internal to them, a move which has made transmission repair shops rich, as they fail the generate even more heat. Heat is something electronics treats like a kiss of death.
If the transmission fluid smells like old burnt cork and is a putrid looking brown rather than red. the odds are what ever is going on is pretty much killed the thing. The best thing to do at the moment is to spend a C note or what ever it costs to get the transmission fluid serviced and if that does not fix it well you tried.
At worse, change it yourself. The Filter is a spin on thing and most of the fluid will drain through the drain plug. But the bottom line? You probably have waited too long to deal with it already, your choice. As to what to do.

the codes were just thrown the other day . i am thinking of changig the solenoids myself .looks pretty simple to do .
gonna check them first by checking the ohms on them at the connector pins.

probably change them all. i can get rebuilt oem solenoids for 85.00 for all 5 ...or i can get a new buss plate and all 5 rebuilt oem solenoids for 119.00.

wont know buss plate condition until i get in there .

i have done the homework .cant do anything these next couple days due to rain .

ordered a whole reman valve body from ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/200912733369...84.m1423.l2649

120.00 ,a little time and i`m done with it .looks pretty easy .already broke it down to the valve body cover to test the solenoids the other day .apart and back together in about an hours time .
i will come out of it with a extra valve body and at least 3 good solenoids. so if anyone is in need look me up .
my valve body is still good ,no reverse slam or anything going on .just needed a couple solenoids .but for this price why not go for it .
