SOHC to DOHC Swap

SOHC to DOHC Swap
So I'm really thinking about swapping my motor from SOHC to DOHC. I know I have to change the transmission too. But I wanted to know if there is anything else I should swap with the car. Its already a 5 speed so I'd be keeping that, and I'd have to swap out the cluster. Does anyone know if the mileage is kept by the ECU or by the cluster (its a digital odometer). Whatever information you have for me is greatly appreciated.

On one hand ( I do not have any personal experiance in this) it is a plug and play procedure where actually the engine management computer will plug and play with the new engine.
At least as I have been told by a reliable source. Me? If I were to do this I would actually try that to see if it works. One key though, it would have to be plug and play, all plugs fit what ever they are plugged into.
As I understand things.
Which might be wrong.
There is a sticky on one of these threads that give ALL of the permutations of swapping parts back and forth. Look for it and read it. Excellent source of data.
And even if the existing computer does plug and play I am sure it would work if it is, but the programming is probably not optimum for a twin cam engine. To get that would probably require purchasing one out of a twin cam equipped car. As far as other data stored on the computer for this, don't know and have not had a reason to care. The mileage is a mechanical display on the dashboard. It is electronically driven but the display is mechanical..
