sometimes when my gf puts her car in reverse it seems like the transmission doesn't engage right away like it revs freely when it is ingear(its an automatic)and then when you hit the gas there is a BANG and then it goes.

patience for what? i don't think you get it dillhole. you can sit there for ten minutes after putting it into reverse and it will still do it.

 

Damn... That sucks. I wish I could help you out but I don't know much about auto-trannys... You could drop a 5-speed into it if you have a week to kill (and a grand to burn)... lol

I had the same problem with mine last year. The valve body in the tranny was shot. Had it replaced and there are no other issues.

Mine sometimes takes a few seconds to go into reverse but never like that...sounds like time for a new tranny maybe. I'm on my 2nd.





BTW 90LX..I have a 2000GT. I rode in a 10 second 1990 LX supercharged with nitrous. It was a monster haha
