aftermarket stereo in Astra
#21
Actually I got the part from Amazon...it was OEM GM part and half the cost of anywhere else I looked but I will make a note of it....BTW, I do about .0001% work on cars...lol. With the help of the forums and google I was able to figure this one out and had it done in 10 minutes.

Here is the link to the part. Sounds like every Astra owner will need it at some point.

Thanks for the link (with brand and part number!).
Good to have for future Astra owners passing through.
I'll probably have to split this into two threads to sticky just the stereo part when we're all done.......

Well I installed my daughters stereo yesterday in her 2008 Astra using the components I mentioned earlier and it was a complete success. Only took about 45 minutes to swap out and everything functions just like it did with the stock radio. Kept all steering wheel controls. Works perfectly. Worst part was waiting 2 weeks to get the harnesses from the UK....lol

How did you connect the CTSOP002.2 adapter to the ct20uv03 universal iso lead?
The connections are both female... Thanks!
I have been talking to the company connects2 extensively over the last week or so. I believe I have all of the part numbers to order what I need to replace the stock CDC40 head unit to aftermarket. In my case it is the JVC KW-R910BT. If anyone is interested, here are the part numbers. I have to order from the UK but they are from Ebay.
CTSOP002.2 (steering wheel interface to keep controls)
CTJVC2LEAD (to go from the CTSOP002.2 to the JVC head unit)
CT20UV03 (goes from CTSOP002.2 to the wiring harness supplied with the JVC)
Note: the CTJVC2LEAD is brand-specific so if you are using a Pioneer head unit it would be CTPIONEERLEAD...
You can go to Car Audio Accessory Manufacturer and check it out. They are all "plug-n-play" so no cutting and splicing. I will be ordering all of the parts tomorrow (2 week delivery from UK but I will post how it all works out when I'm done.
