Default Electrical gremlins

Has anyone experienced the hazard warning lights come on when starting the car - you have to push the button/switch to turn them off ?
Any suggestions what to look at to resolve this problem ?

First guess would be the switch
Last guess would be the bumper

But then again it is an astra. God only knows what Opel disigned into them or what the hell the Belgium's really did when they bolted them together.

That implies the car is a hazard to drive.

No clue whatsoever. Sorry

Interested to hear you say last the bumper - was that a joke ?
The car was rear ended (minor damage) and this is symptom came up after that. Is there something related in the rear for the hazards ?

my perusing of the net indicates only a few posts with your symptoms.
For one person it was the actual switch; most other posts never posted a resolution. One person suggested it was the Steering column control module (SCM).

Take the above with no warranty on correctness. Just a dude surfing the net for

saturn astra hazard lights

A dealership w former saturn techs might be able to help on this one

Get a Chilton Service Manual for the Astra, and look through the electrical section. Might give you a lead on your problem
