So my gf accidentally kicked the radio last night. It doesnt even turn on now. Any suggestions? i think the anti theft mechanism may have kicked in. Help?

Hmm, foot by radio....
Anyway,
Stock or aftermarket?
1)Either way, check the radio fuse
2)Check wiring where radio meets harness from car.
If aftermarket, someone used an adapter and it was not a hackfest.
3)Confirm correct voltages are present on the harness wiring and that connection is sound'
.
If all seems ok, then either radio damaged (on off button wrecked?) or something knocked loose internally.
Does it tell the time or have a backlit screen? Do either of those work?
I know zilch about Ion OEM radios or theft deterrent modes on Ions

I don't want to know why or how she kicked it.
But I am not to good at electronics. So I am of no help.

If it's wired anywhere nearly as bizarrely as the s car radios, there'd actually be two fuses involved. But it's an ion.
Check the stuff I mentioned above when you pull it from the dash.
And give it a shake -- rattling = frowny face.

My experience has been that if one knows nothing about electronics, I'd find a friend that does before I tamper with it.

My experience has been that you learn about electronics far more quickly by wrecking the first 5 things you try to fix. That's when you learn what NOT to do, which is generally as important as what TO do.
Taking the time to understand how something works electronically is different than understanding electronics.
