2005 Ion HID Retrofit
Hey guys, just wanted to share what I do on the side. I install HID on vehicles the CORRECT way. I am not sure if any of you are familiar with this, but I retrofit HID projectors into halogen reflector housed vehicles. Unlike people who put a HID bulb in their reflector housing; retrofitting provides a nice "cutoff" so there is no glare to oncoming traffic. Since the headlights on my Saturn were really bad, I retrofitted them :-)
Here are some pics and short explanations on how I do it. If you all have any questions, please feel free to ask. You can also check out THE SATURN BUILD by clicking on it. My main car, a 2014 Nissan Sentra, is a featured WINNING RETROFIT which you can look at by clicking on it. Enjoy!
Here she is
Lights needed some help - One was broken, other had bad hazing
Headlights off of car

Sorry, I only have these night pics right now, but I will get some day pics so you can see the finished product. But the output speaks for itself.
The lights aren't crooked, the pavement is uneven. But you can see what I mean by "no glare" and "cutoff". These are also extremely wide.
High beams
This is my back ally and you can see how great the light distribution is
Day pics coming tomorrow. Thanks for watching!

I am thinking you are referring to what covers the projector? If so, that is the "shroud" and there are many different styles to choose from. The name of that one is a bullet shroud and I chose it because it is rounded and flows with the roundness of the vehicle itself.

Dang, we have all kinds of new blood around here with both specialties AND broad knowledge from years of experience.
So nice to see.
To those who haven't reached 10 posts --- and many of you have already surpassed that, (thank you) --- get those post counts up to ten min by Mon 5/18 or...you know what happens......
