recently changed oil and after 2nd or 3rd day, looked at speedometer and it showed 694578 and it does not change. The approximate milage should be about 92350. The trip meter does not work either. Anyone got any suggestions. Tried to reset oil button, did not change. even disconnected battery, but did not help.

On the Instrument Panel Junction Block (IPJB) under the dash, check the IGN 1 fuse

Thanks for the info Oceanarcher. Checked the fuse in both the block on the side of wall on passenger side and also the fuse block under hood. all seem OK. I am wondering if a connection to drive train may be unplugged but I don''t know where to look.

Well, the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is located on the transaxle housing. Make sure the connector is tight ...

The speed sensor plug appears clean and is securely plugged in. Still no help.

(sigh) ... Yeah ...

Did not want to jump to that, but sw2cam has the next logical place to look. Either that, or the speedo head itself.

I don''t know what that is or where it is, but it sounds expensive. Can you help with more info.

Thanks

Default Are you still there ?

I have the same problem with the same car make and model 9 years later. Was told that a rebuilt instrument cluster would solve the problem. Now where do I get a rebuilt instrument cluster lol ?

You were told wrong.

The BCM is toast. It stores the mileage and cannot be altered
