doors lock when shift into gear but will not unlock automatically.

 

This is a user programmable feature, so check the owner's manual for the sequence of key position and switch operation needed to re enable the auto unlock function.

If that does not work, sounds like a BCM issue (Body Control Module)-- may need to be reprogrammed or may be defective and require replacement
