Just finished the head rebuild/timing chain replacement on my buddies 01 L200 2.2l.. started it up and Im getting an idle at about 2k rpm. If I give it some gas it goes up and drops slowly back down to the 2k rpm range.. I put the scan tool on it and got a code p300 multiple cyl. misfire. The fan also runs non stop but if I clear the code while the car is running it turns off and then back on as soon as it throws the code again. Getting an ign timing reading of about 8 deg. advanced at ~2krpm. Im assuming with the fan being on its coolant temp sens related but that still doesnt explain the code. anyone have a pic or description of where the cts is? or have any idea where I should start with troubleshooting? new to saturns no idea where to begin. thanks in advance for replies. I'll look up the location of that temperature sensor in the service manula when I get home. As for the high idle, I'd start checking for vacuum leaks.

Yea I thought about the vaccum leak. Didnt see anything that looked bad. Any sections of hose that go bad?
