My AC has stopped working. The charge is good, and there is power going to the compressor (14 volts) when the AC is switched on, but no cold air.

Is there anything else to check before looking for a new compressor?

does the clutch engage on the compressor the weights spin with the pulley. Is there red clutch grease all over the clutch on the compressor.

There isn't any red grease on the compressor. If I turn on the AC while the car is idling, the RPM's drop. I believe this means the clutch is engaging, but I am not sure.
