I recently purchased an automatic 2000 Saturn L (70000 mi) with the 3.0
L engine and would like to know if there is any history of maintence
problems that I should be concerned with? Any recurring flaws
with this engine or platform? Timing belt or chain issues?
Transmission fluid change issues? I am new to the saturn and
would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance.

As I said when I repled to your fist post on this subject.

The very first thing I would is write down your VIN. Stop at your nearest Saturn dealer and ask for the Service History. That will give you some insight to anything that was done to your car at any Saturn dealer in the country. What I'd look for on that service history is to see if the oil cooler had been repaired. If not have that looked at. I do not know of anyone ever having to pay of the service history printout.
